3D KITCH BY VENUSMANSION

Don’t we all agree that our Instagram feeds could use some sprucing up? Next to the selfies of our friends and beautiful people in tropical places, there isn’t much variety. An artist whose work is certainly going to make a colorful impact on our Insta feeds is Lee Sol, also known as venusmansion.

From Korea, he uses Instagram as a platform to showcase his artistic work in the field of graphic design. Lee Sol uses Instagram as a portfolio to demonstrate his artistic abilities, which are, by the way, top notch. He makes use of humour and kitch, blending them seamlessly into colorful 3D renderings. With extreme attention to even the smallest of details, Lee Sol is not a man of muted tones. Bright pinks, saturated blues and purples, all topped off with high gloss surfaces – this is what the artist has become renowned for. It’s bright, it’s bold and definitely exciting!

Most of his work depicts moments of still life, albeit highly colorful – an abandoned scene in a restaurant; Buddha sitting in a bathtub, relaxing; a statue influenced by Ancient Greek monumental sculpture casually stroking an elephant. It’s all so relatable, yet odd. The strength of his visuals lies in combining contradicting elements that have nothing to do with each other, but somehow still create a whole. It’s like he’s brilliantly playing mind games with us, creating a world that does not fully make sense.

Definitely a name to keep an eye out for, Lee Sol is killing it with 3D renderings. Take a look for yourself and follow the creative digital world of venusmansion.
