Artist Jessine Hein recreated David Bowie’s old teeth

Painter and sculptor Jessine Hein has created dentures out of David Bowie’s old teeth, made from denture acrylics, plaster and acrylic paint. The legendary musician used to sport naturally crooked teeth instead of the porcelain, Chicklet-esque veneers he has now. According to this pretty weird in-depth look at the musician’s teeth, he decided to get some work done to his teeth around 1980 to promote his more polished look that came about in line with his Let’s Dance record. Part of the upgrades were teeth whitening, straightening, and cleaning up his gums.

Having a father who used to be an illustrator before he switched to working as a fine artist and a mother who is an illustrator’s agent. Jessine was probably destined to work within illustration in some form. She works in a large variety of styles; between pink fashion and morbid grunge themes, she has all kinds of facets and possibilities displayed within her work. She uses the paintbrush and watercolour or acrylics just as naturally as she does the programs’ Photoshop or Illustrator. Also she includes photography and crafts into her work when suitable.
