This dress is drawn with a 3D printing pen from head to toe

The world of 3D printing is all about tailor-made: from unique camera rigs to digitally designed 3D printed garments. Fashion studio SHIGO from Hong Kong brought this idea to a completely new level by using a 3Doodler to draw a dress from head to toe, line by line. Every millimeter of the dress has been hand made by the designers of SHIGO, rendering the detailed seashell design even more impressive. The pattern was first printed on fabric and placed on a mannequin, to ensure every circle and shell to be put on the right spot. Then they overlaid the lines with the 3Doodler, and piece by the piece the dress came together. The dress is the first in its kind: “Few designers use this technique and no one has ever made a complete dress with it,” acoording to SHIGO. Watch a short video of the making of below.
