MVOTW (Music Videos Of The Week)

Let’s introduce a new category here at Blend\bureaux, called MVOTW aka Music Videos Of The Week. Ever since MTV was launched, the music video became a new form of art. In recent years MTV has become less of a music channel, but luckily this function has been taken over by the likes of YouTube, Vimeo, etc..

Discover this week’s most striking music videos after the break.

1. We Have Band – Modulate

Produced and directed by Rod Solab Huart, We Have Band’s latest music video is a 90’s inspired story between fantasy and reality starring two guys on motorbikes, a girl, betrayal and wet T-shirts.

2. OK Go – The Writing’s On The Wall

OK Go is one of those bands with an impressive collection of original videos. This one’s filled with camera tricks and almost feels as if the song was purely written with this in mind.

3. Lana Del Rey – Shades Of Cool

Lana Del Rey’s new album ‘Ultraviolence’ is a world-building record that leaves us wondering about the divide between reality and fiction. The video for ‘Shades Of Cool’ is more fairy tale than it sounds and depicts a romantic fling with an older man – immersed in the mirage-like American iconography that has coloured her music since ‘Video Games’.
