As part of California filmmaker Matt Black‘s portrait series Reflection — which has previously covered the likes of Larry Clarke, Gary Simmons and Damien Hirsts as subject – the latest episode reflects on pop artist Jeff Koons. In just four minutes, Black provides insights into Koon’s approach and early influences. Koons also deals with the idea of art as a way to create dialogue, questioning perfection by making ultra clean versions of banal subjects. Watch the video after the break and stay tuned for Koons’ major retrospective at New York’s Whitney Museum, opening on June 27.
