Paris fashion week has been quite a theatre this season, Rick Owens redefinition of beauty, Kenzo’s bid to alleviate our waters and its fish, Comme des Garçons fuck you to commercial fashion and last but not least Nina Ricci’s performance of FEMEN, an Ukrainian Feminist group. Well, the last wasn’t really that staged or even invited to the show in fact. Two topless women stormed the stage during the show with slogans like ‘Models Don’t Go To Brothels’ and ‘Fashion Dictaterror’ written on their bare bodies. Soon enough they were tackled by security and escorted outside of the runway – but seem to have succeeded in bringing their message across, somehow. Spring/Summer 2014 will be so rebellious.
