What’s in a name? Great Art In Ugly Rooms is a tumblr blog which contrasts some of the greatest artworks of the previous century with some of the ugliest interiors found on the Internet.

Important pieces of art are most often to be viewed in museums with white walls and other means to not distract the audience from the art. This tumblr is aimed at the exact opposite by recontextualizing iconic sculptures and canvases, pulling them away from their pristine halls and placing them into – let’s face it – very ugly interiors.

It all started when the mysterious founder of the blog and a friend discovered a catalogue picture which used a work by Kaz Oshiro as a background prop.
