A.P.C. Eastpak
Urban lifestyle brand Eastpak and French label A.P.C. have collaborated on their first capsule collection, inspired by Eastpak’s iconic designs and A.P.C.’s no-nonsense functionality. The A.P.C. Eastpak collection consists of three styles each having its own modified version of the traditional Eastpak logo. Outside, the usual ‘USA’-mention under Eastpak is replaced by A.P.C. and on the inside the brand names are reversed.
The first style is the Classic Backpack which draws its inspiration from Eastpak’s iconic Authentic Wyoming backpack, but smaller and with a vegetable-tanned leather finish. This specific tanning process gives the leather a durable and flexible quality while making for a natural colour, which darkens over time. This versatile backpack is made according to Eastpak’s high standards, has a lined inside laptop pocket and anti-theft compartment for valuables. This bag comes in black and grey.
The Big Backpack has a camouflage print, metal details and a natural leather finish. It’s a larger and more chic alternative to the daily grocery shopping.
The centerpiece of this collection is the Golf Bag. A.P.C. considers golf an extreme sport because of the often long and rough conditions combined with the sport’s psychological challenges. The collaboration has enabled the companies to make the first high-end but still affordable golf bag, aimed at real golfers’ needs. The bag has a small telescopic foot, padded straps (backpack or shoulder strap) and a storage compartment in the front which can also serve as rain shelter. The bag is made from durable Eastpak material and vegetable-tanned leather. The bag is sold with four matching covers for golf club heads and for the driver. These covers are fittingly called A, P, and C (for clubs 3, 5 and 7) and D for the driver.
This collection will be launched in September, with prices starting at €150.
