The programme was already quite packed, but PITCH has just released another (last) pile of names for their festival on 5-6 July.

José González and his pyschedelic folk band Junip build each of their songs to a climax with their acoustic guitar, electronics, and subdued drums.

Vienna-based and London-born S O H N incorporates click rhythms, soul and chillwave in in his music. In January, he played a show at Eurosonic, for which he received an 8.5 by 3voor12 who called his music “strange and complicated with a dreamlike and danceable atmosphere.”

Analogue techno is always a great audiovisual spectacle, but especially so when Daniel Brandt, Jan Brauer and Paul Frick take care of it. They form Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble which plays techno with classical instruments based on detailed notations. After two more or less normal albums, they have now choosen for more adventure on ‘Miami’. For their live shows, they invite an exciting classical techno orchestra.

Syrian superstar Omar Souleyman is a welcome counterweight to the tragic reality of his home country. The 47 year old musician has been successful since the 1990s with his traditional dance and party genre dabke. This genre is an energetic combination of ouds, synths and poetry to which it is impossible to resist.

Daedelus is a Californian producer and member of the Low End Theory scene, which is a weekly experimental hip hop and electronic music club night. Daedelus’ live shows are brightened up by a self-developed mirror sculpture which consists of a robotically driven pile of shiny mirros which are controlled by fellow developer and visualist Emmanuel Biard. Daedelus is also a master of the revolutionary music controller Monome, so be there to get a glimpse of the future.

Lapalux is Stuart Howard’s musical project, signed with Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. His album Nostalchic is quintessential Brainfeeder combined with the old and cold Rephlex sound and a bit of R&B and soul.

Last Night In Paris is a twentysomething collective of artists, rappers, writers and musicians who pop up everywhere they can. Text, music, art direction and online distribution; they all do it themselves. Josh Collard, Jaja, KC, Serb, Flowzart, Danny, Zach, Jordon, and Tee are the nine key members of this continually expanding group.

One of the forces behind the new alternative R&B genre is How To Dress Well. Tom Krell’s latest album ‘Total Loss’ combines the delicious flavour of R&B with dark edges and a searching lyricist. Similar to Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, and Miguel.

Le1f is a rapper who started out as a ballet dancer and who brings hip hop interacting with dance.

Danish duo Quadron consists of singer Coco O. and producer Robin Hannibal. Prince and Adele are already fans of them, while Raphael Saadiq invited them to join his 2011 tour.

The swinging collective Jungle By Night Soundsystem has been called the future of afrobeat by Fela Kuti as they bring suitcases filled with sunny afro and tropicalia.

Shows by Kaytranada have hip hop, sould, dubstep, bass, R&B, FlyLo and HudMo floating accross the room. The young producer made his name with bootleg remixes of Janet Jackson, Missy Elliot, and TLC. His performance on PITCH will be his first ever in the Netherlands.

Breach is house music made by Ben Westbeech, a British DJ/producer/vocalist living in Amsterdam who founded his own label Naked Naked last year.

Dekmantel Soundsystem (Jan van Kampen, Thomas Martojo and Casper Tielrooij) is infamous for its quality sets with disco, Detroit, Italo and techno.

Gallowstreet Brass Band is a formation of 10 members with strings, drums, and percussion. The result is a mini parade taking the audience to the sultry corners of New Orleans streets with house and hip hop.
