The second weekend of STRP (8-9 March) will have an audio-visual live show by Jon Hopkins and the first screening of electronic musician Martyn’s new show.

Martyn was born in Eindhoven, but now lives and works in L.A.. ‘The Air Between Your Words’ is an innovating audio-visual show which will contain dashing new music from his upcoming album and will be shown on 8th and 9th March. This impressive and haunting show offers room for radical collaboration and experimentation with various media, and is a combination of three artists’ diverse abilities. Martyn improvises a live set which reflects the introverted aesthetic of his third album. Jeroen Erosie uses an intiuitive imaginative language (both typography and improvised), and Xavier Magot creates his characteristically explicit and disturbing live-action images.

Jon Hopkins is a London-based producer and musician who will bring a hypnotizing audio-visual live show to STRP on 9th March. After beginning his career as keyboardist for Imogen Heap, he quickly switched to producing other artists, such as Coldplay, Brian Eno, Herbie Hancock, and Massive Attack. He began studying piano at the age of 12, but as a teenager he got fascinated with synthetic sounds and acid house, early hardcore, grunge, and drum ‘n bass. At the moment, he delivers exquisite melodic electro and everything he touches, seems to turn into gold. His latest album was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize and he composed the soundtrack for the 2010 film Monsters.
