The latest Summer 2013 Lanvin video campaign shot by Steven Meisel starts out like any other high-fashion top notch video project, only this time after a few seconds it’s disrupted by a Skype call from Mr. Alber Elbaz himself. In the Skype conversation Elbaz compliments the direction of the video as in ‘J’Adore, It’s Divine!, It’s very Californian, Ohhh I love the bags, No I’m still in the office’. And then logs off. It’s kind of an unsettling moment as you almost get dragged into the highly atmospheric video, making it in return quite a ridiculous scenario – as fashion can be quite often. Gotta love Lavin’s sense of humor.
