PERFORMATIVITY

Performativity is a two-part video program created for MOCAtv by guest curator, artist and writer Katerina Llanes. Performativity explores the language of the body as it relates to constructing and re-constructing identity. The two form a diptych as research in the relation between the physical body and its cultural and social signifiers (Corporeal) and the technological body and the self in a post Internet landscape (Cyber). Both programs feature existing as well as special commissions from artists like Zackary Drucker, Rashaad Newsome, Rhett LaRue, Ryan Trecartin, Yemenwed, boychild, and many many more.
