Salt Made from Tears

Salt Made from Tears is a collection of delicately flavoured salts by Hoxton Street Monster Supplies – Purveyor of Quality Goods for Monsters of Every Kind. The salts come in five different flavours, such as Salt Made From Tears of Sneezing and Salt Made From Tears of Laughter. According to HSMS “Salt Made From Tears combines centuries-old craft with the freshest human tears which are gently boiled, released into shallow crystallisation tanks, then harvested by hand and finally rinsed in brine.”

“This exquisite salt has a fiendishly spicy flavour, and is by far the safest way to experience the peculiar pleasure of human laughter. Collected only from sincerely amused humans, it is one of our rarest salts.”

“This delectable salt, made from tears of abject sorrow, is collected only at moments of complete misery. With its delicate lavender flavour, it’s the perfect seasoning for limbs and organs.”

About Hoxton Street Monster Supplies

The store is an initiative of The Ministry of Stories, which follows the same model as Dave Eggers’ 826 centres. The Ministry of Stories is a writing centre where kids aged 8-18 can get one-to-one tuition with professional writers and other volunteers. Like the 826 stores in the US (such as the pirate shop in Valencia and the shop catering to superheros in Brooklyn, NYC) the shop front is meant to generate income for the writing centre.

The full salt collection can be purchased for £30.00, singles cost £7.00 at Hoxton Street Monster Supplies, among other delightful objects such as the neckbolt tightners and fang floss. But be aware: ‘Humans welcome, but entirely at their own risk’.
