Labour of Love

Tara Dougans is a 26 year old Canadian-born, London-based art director and illustrator. She relies heavily on the virtue of ‘taking one’s time’ and focuses specifically on handcraftsmanship, the value of process and detail oriented design. All of her drawings are done by hand with love. Check out a selection of her fantastic portfolio below.

Like a Moth to a Flame: a seven-piece editorial of this year’s Antwerp Masters graduates Jantine Van Peski, Niels Peeraer, Frederick Hornof, Leonneke Derksen, En-Ya Vandenhende and Yusuke Hotch.

Boys Will be Boys is a series featuring fall’s most delicate male flowers from Dior Homme, Alexander McQueen, Raf Simons, Thom Browne, Ann Demeulemeester and Dries Van Noten.

Spring On Acid is a slightly twisted 5 piece editorial celebrating and satirizing the neon brights of the upcoming season. All collection photos courtesy of Style.com.

LesLes Enfants Terribles
is a small commemorative project of Alexander McQueen pieces from his Spring 2008 and Fall 2009 collections. A series of illustrations to honour the perfection in detail of the late designer’s craft.

Little Disguises is a fun project inspired by the slightly humiliated expressions found on the faces of small dogs caught in costume.
