ATTIC FANTASTIC AUTUMN/WINTER 2011 – 2012 COLLECTION

“You are not lost, you are here.”

Potpourri shaped like rocks in vintage pharmaceutical containers by MAD et LEN. A taxidermy head of a bird in a glass case. Placed alongside the current collections of Carven, Individuals, Camilla Norback and studioRUIG.

The owners Ellen Albers and Willemijn de Wit wanted to create a space filled with dynamic inspiration. In order to achieve the aforementioned they came up with the concept store You Are Here. In order to achieve their aspiration, the two initiated You Are Heroes. Every four months they reinvent YAH by choosing a theme and carefully selecting a designer, artist and a fashion brand that fit with the current state of mind.

This time the theme is Attic Fantastic with Eley Kishimoto and Lotte van Wulfften Palthe. As you walk around the store, it feels as if you are indeed taking a peek into various personal spaces. Each space has been interpreted in a different way. Eley Kishimoto is very straightforward yet playful by using wooden panels, recreating the slanting ceiling of a typical attic. Lotte van Wulfften Palthe takes it to another level by visually translating her living space in a graphic manner.

By diving into a new mentality and therefore a new atmosphere every quarter of the year, YAH is able to live up to their expectations, rewarding the beholders anticipation.

No, you’re definitely not lost but you could easily lose yourself here, in a good way.
