Remote Nation

Remote Nation is a television-based large scale public art project in New York. Viewable every night from the new section of the elevated High Line Park north of West 23rd Street, and at street level on West 24th and 25th Streets. Originally planend to run until the end of September Remote Nation has been extended until October 29, 2011.

Remote Nation is Kevin Cooley’s first public art project. Cooley held two solo shows at Massimo Audiello Gallery and will have his first solo exhibition in Los Angeles this January at Kopeikin Gallery. Cooley recently received a Finishing Fund Grant from The Experimental Television Center and is also a recipient of the Rema Hort Mann Grant. His work is held in several public and private collections including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Schwartz Art Collection at Harvard Business School. Cooley’s photographic and video work is represented by Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles and Beers Lambert in London. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
