London Fashion Week Special : Les Tresors de la Mer

With Fashion Weeks across the globe looking forward to the tan, sand and sea of Spring’s first rays of sun, two stood out by taking their S/S12 collection under the sea: Mary Katranzou and Holly Fulton.

Mary Katranzou, who’s bold prints have been showering London Fashion Week for eight seasons now, has turned from lampshades to the depths of the ocean. The almost luminous images on draped garments allow the texture of the fabric to merge with the print and give it a feel of coral lined seascapes.

Holly Fulton’s S/S12 collection also took a leap into the deep ocean with corals growing on her bright and graphic adorned silks. Influenced by Versace, Holly Fulton’s collection looked like a new take on to the Versace tableware collection ‘Les Tresors de la Mer’; with the opposite feel, from hard ceramic to flowing liquid lines.
