Online shopping in our digital world is an up and coming fact, but it often lacks feeling and intimacy. Dutch designer Mark van Vorstenbos and artist Twan Jansen came up with a sophisticated solution. For their webstore youasme measyou they created filmed decors that put the individual garments in the spotlight and convey the atmosphere of the labels.

The atmospheric videos combine realistic and digital situations by showing the garments on an interactive rack. Each design is shown with detail shots, practical information and associative impressions through videos that put the garment in the leading role. Art-Director Twan Janson explains: “We show the garments in the videos as film characters in human situations; complete with dialogue.”
The webstore youasme measyou is presenting their first collection Closer (F/W ’11-’12): Fine designer knitwear and jerseys. Strong style conscious pieces in a clean relaxed manner to complete contemporary wardrobes. High quality materials, beautifully executed to utmost detail. Garments that last, set to become your favorites.
Despite the charming idea and the clean yet atmospheric set up youasme measyou fails to translate on a technical level…yet. The presentation is still very much like your average webstore and the created atmosphere vanishes when clicking the ‘add to cart’ button. We see much potential in creating creative online experiences for shoppers and hope that youasme measyou are the herald of an online shopping revolution.
