Todays Art in Brussels

The TodaysArt Festival held on 23 and 24 September and taking place for the seventh time in The Hague, Netherlands, is expanding this year to Brussels, Belgium — which happens to be my favourite place for festivals (Ed.). The Generator Foundation, responsible for the festival in The Hague and other cultural activities, collaborates with the Belgian Cimatics, a platform for audiovisual arts and initiator of the former Cimatics Festival. The Belgian edition will be known as TodaysArt.BE and the Dutch festival is renamed TodaysArt.NL.

TodaysArt.BE is an international urban festival that brings together art, music, technology and people, through an exciting program of contemporary visual arts and performances. TodaysArt.BE will also intervene in the infrastructure of the city similar to the Dutch version. The festival lasts three days around one of the most famous places of the city: the area around the station, Euro/ South Station.

Like TodaysArt the Hague, the program of the festival in Brussels covers the daytime and evening. During the day with concerts, performances and exhibitions at various indoor locations, large-scale installations and interventions in public outdoor spaces. An evening program, with electronic music and related audio-visual arts, an exchange program with lectures, workshops and educational projects and a peripheral program with local cultural partners.

TodaysArt.NL happens on 23 and 24 September. A week after TodaysArt.BE follows from September 29 until October 1. For those who do not want to miss out on all this, there are combination tickets — besides the regular day’s- and weekend tickets — for sale at € 60, allowing you access to both festivals.
