On thursdaynight July 14 every(fashion)body will be on the edge of their seats to find out who will be the up and coming fashion talent in the Netherlands. You can watch Lichting 2011 via a live-stream on aifw.nl/live. Lichting is the fashion-industry price which is rewarded to the most promising fashion graduate in the Netherlands. The concept is simple: de biggest talents of the 7 Dutch Fashion academies present themselves together on one central catwalk show to the critical fashion press and industry. The winner is chosen by a representetive group of fashion professionals and an international acknowledged panel. This year the panel consist of professor Shelley Fox (Parsons NYC), stylist Catherine Baba (Vogue, Chanel, Balmain), fashion buyers of the Antwerp fashion shop RA and designer Michael van der Ham.

The winner of Lichting 2011 goes home with the G-Star RAW talent award. With this Lichting supports up and coming fashion talent to keep their collection growing. The winnerof the award receives a cash amount of €10,000. Besides the winner is invited to the stylingteam of G-Star RAW backstage to support their international presentation in Berlijn.

Lichting is an initiatief of Amsterdam International Fashion Week, HTNK fashion recruitment & consultancy, Premsela, the Netherlands Institute for Design and Fashion in cooperation with G-Star RAW.
