Origin of the Beginning

Gallery Ron Mandos Amsterdam presents the exhibition Origin of the Beginning by artist Levi van Veluw.
Levi van Veluw is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in the Netherlands. He graduated from ArtEZ Institute of Arts in Fine Art. He has had several international publications under which in BLEND Magazine and GUP magazine. He won award for Photographer of the Year Fine Arts in 2007, as well as the 1st place portrait and 1st place self-portrait in International Photo Awards (USA) amongst other prizes.

The artist will show new series of work in the form of installations, photographs and videos in which he portrays himself, by showing his own childhood memories through different media. His boyhood bedroom, the place where he spent many solitary hours, inspired the installations. Van Veluw created three rooms as life-sized installations that exist out of more than 30.000 wooden blocks, balls and slats that he glued to the decor. In one of these rooms there’s a desk, a table lamp and a bookcase. Van Veluw burned the edge of the table as he had an obsession for fire. This exhibition runs from May 21 until June 25.
