Dutch Design Awards

The ninth edition of the Dutch Design Awards (DDA) is in progress. The organization has already gathered 680 entries. This year’s theme is collecting stories, so the quality of all designs will be judged by the story behind it as well as the excellence of the design itself. Questions such as what was the reason behind it and how does the design provide an answer to domestic, social and economic developments are crucial for the jury.

There is a total of nine awards that will be handed out, divided in three main categories; communication, product service and system and spatial. The finalists will be presented on July 7 and the winner of the coveted Golden Eye will be announced on October 22. The contestants stride for a prize of € 20.000 and the title. The prizes are internationally renowned and are annually presented by a professional jury in the field of Dutch Design. The work of all finalists and winners will be exhibited during Dutch Design Week and published in the Dutch Design Yearbook 2011.

Until June 15 you can still subscribe for additional awards such as Best Future concept, Young Designer Award and Best Client Award via the website. For more information about the terms and conditions check Dutch Design Awards.
