Nachtsalon at Huis Marseille

Next week Friday May 13, the n8 (known for Museum Night in Amsterdam) organizes a new edition of Nachtsalon at Amsterdam photography museum Huis Marseille. With Nachtsalon, the n8 transforms a museum into a Friday night out by the means of music, performances, film, talk shows and more.

The programme of Nachtsalon is inspired by Huis Marseille’s current exhibitions by Marrigje de Maar and Bert Teunissen. These photographers travelled around the world to capture all sorts of traditions and habits. De Maar mainly photographed interiors in China and Teunissen makes travellogs of his trips through eastern Europe.

During Nachtsalon, Amsterdam Indie-folk band Bird on the Wire will perform live with several interesting instruments and the lecture China on Spinach will present three speakers about museums, media and traditions, who will talk about the differences and similarities between China and the western world.

Treat yourself with snacks&drinks and the tunes of dj duo Zanzibar in the basement of Huis Marseille. Or check out the workshop in making photograms in the darkroom, take a tour through the museum and view the film programme that is set up by Opslaan Als in collaboration with State Magazine.
