Diane Arbus in Tate Modern

Diane Arbus

On May 16th, London’s Tate Modern will open a new exhibition presenting the work of the late American photographer Diane Arbus. The three-room display shows a wide ranging collection of her intriguing images of outsiders. Arbus’ sympathy for the subjects captured in her images exposed the variety and complexity of the human condition. Unfortunately, Arbus committed suicide in 1971. A film about her life was created in 2006 called
Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus, starring Nicole Kidman. Artist Rooms: Diane Arbus is on display at Tate Modern from May 16 until March 31.
