It Was Once a Paradise
Coming April 23, the exhibition of ‘It Was Once a Paradise’ by the world-renowned photographer and contemporary artist Nobuyoshi Araki opens at Reflex Art Gallery. Sex and death have been characteristic themes for this 71 year old Japanese photographer. This new collection however, doesn’t carry the elements of sex and death but captures grief all the more. In 40 diptychs, each compromising two very different styles of photographs, he describes the complex relationship between loss and desire.
In collaboration with the artist Reflex Editions will publish a book in conjunction with the exhibition. The exhibition runs until July 16.
