LCD Soundsystem’s The Long Goodbye

After almost ten years of making awesome tracks, James Murphy’s band LCD Soundsystem has called it a night. Online the band stated: “We are retiring from the game. Gettin’ out. Movin’ on.” Last weekend, the NY-based band gave a spectacular, almost four-hour-long concert at Madison Square Garden entitled The Long Goodbye. Pitchfork filmed the entire concert and published it on YouTube, including a complete tracklist.

The show was sold out in an instant, and tickets became available on bidding sites for extreme amounts of money. In reaction to this, Murphy stated on his Twitter account that people shouldn’t pay so much money to see LCD Soundsystem play: “1500 for a single ticket? Fuck you, scalpers. You are parasites. I HATE you.” Well, we’re a bit sad their decade of making great music is over.
