Reality Sucks

Currency seems to be a popular tool for making modern art these days. American artist Dan Tague uses his dollar bills to create what we think are clever pieces of art. At first, his creations look like worthless pieces of dirty paper but look close and you’ll see they’re folded dollar bills that contain critical messages.

Tague’s series Live Free Or Die, Cost Of War / Price Of Freedom and Cash Rules Everything Around Me focus on the intersection of freedom and war. As the artist states on his website: ‘Is the cost of war another way of looking at the price of freedom? Military aggression costs billions of dollars and often leads to economic stain resulting in job loss, decline in education, and further restrictions in medical resources for citizens.’ Have a look at more of Tague’s pieces after the jump.
