Registration for the Dutch Design Awards 2011 opened

ddaRegistration for the Dutch Design Awards (DDA) 2011 has opened today. Until the 30th of April, designers in the Netherlands can register free online to have a chance of winning the highly prized Dutch Design Awards. This ninth edition will see the winner of The Golden Eye (best of the best of Dutch Design) walk away with a money prize of € 20,000 for the first time. This year the focus of the Dutch Design Awards will be ‘Collecting Stories’. How and why was the product developed, does the product live up to social, economic and social developments? The jury will take these aspects into account.
Last years winners include Piet Parra (Best Illustration), Iris Van Herpen (RADO Young Designer Award) and Van Moof (Best Consumer Product).
All the winners of 2011 will be announced during the festive Awards Show at the opening of the Dutch Design Week (DDW) on the 22nd of October in the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. Go to dutchdesignawards.nl for more info.
