Profilers

Generally speaking art directors are responsible for all aspects involving the way a ‘brand’ presents itself visually. But it is not only companies who are involved in branding. A lot of people present themselves on social networks the way they want others to see them; cool, active, globetrotting, adventurous or creative. We place the right pictures, make well thought-out jokes and we try to present ourselves as best as we can in our online information.
In its Profilers exhibition KOP seeks out the limits of branding and of how far you can go when gathering online information. KOP has asked eight international art directors and artists to brand eight of KOP’s Facebook friends for the purpose of this exhibition using online sources and media. Which eight Facebook friends have been chosen wasn’t clear until the opening last week. This was also the first time the friends involved learnt about their being part of the exhibition. Profilers is on display until April 25.

Participating artists are Bosque (AR), Ibraheem Youssef (CAN), La Bolleur (NL), Rob Matthews (UK), ROYALSTEEZ (NL), Studio Smack (NL) and Miktor & Molf (NL).
