Type The Sky

Berlin-based artist Lisa Rienermann has created an interesting body of work over the past ten years. The 31-year-old illustrator, photographer and art director has a special fascination for typography. For Type The Sky, Rienermann took a close look at the shapes that were created where the buildings met the blue sky.

She captured the shapes with her camera and voila, a new sort of typography was created. You’re wondering how this idea popped into the artist’s head? Rienermann: ‘It began with the ‘Q.’ I was in a kind of courtyard in Barcelona. I looked upward and saw houses, the blue sky and clouds. The more I looked, I saw that the houses formed a letter Q.’
