Last Roitfeld cover features Dutch model

Vogue France

The last cover of French Vogue under the direction of the magazine’s former editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld makes our Dutch harts skip a beat. The cover of the March edition features a Dutch model called Saskia De Brauw, photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott as a sort of video screen shot and looking stunning with a strong face and an androgynous touch.

Although De Brauw isn’t the youngest in her field of expertise – she’s 29-years-old – she’s named one of 2011 most promising models. Roitfeld stated that she was introduced to De Brauw by artist Riccardo Tisci and immediately fell for her extraordinary face, hair and the fact she was fairly unknown. De Brauw has got things going for her: last month she was one of three female models selected to participate in Balenciaga’s menswear show. We’re curious to see what’s up next.
