Win a trip to South Africa

Several good things come from South Africa; from Nelson Mandela to Charlize Theron and supermodel Candice Swanepoel, not to mention the never-ending list of Olympic gold-medal winning athletes. This time we bumped into a talented South African fashion designer called Stiaan Louw. Louw graduated in 2001 from Cape Town’s fashion academy with a collection of womenswear but switched to solely designing menswear in 2008.
As a pattern cutter at heart, Louw creates designs that are really minimalistic and executed in muted colors. This way, he’s able to put the focus on the fit and construction of his garments. Louw’s latest collection was called Six and focused on blending different ethnic styles. The designs from this collection contained influences from ancient Greek and Roman culture combined with traditional African detailing from the Nilotic ethnic group of the Maasai. For this collection, the promising fashion designer was awarded Best Menswear Designer Africa at the Africa Fashion Awards of 2010.
Louw isn’t planning on moving to Paris or New York; he prefers the inspiring surroundings of his South African hometown. We can imagine you being curious of what these surroundings might be like. Well, we have some great news for you! Find South Africa is currently hosting a competition in which you can win a two-week trip through the South African countryside. To enter the competition the only thing you have to do is follow their tupping ram on a map and score points by capturing it on several locations. The competition runs through January 27.
