Friday Food \ Avocado Hummus

For this week’s Friday Food we’ve selected something tasty and simple. Preparing this avocado hummus only takes up ten minutes of your time and makes a perfect little treat for New Year’s. Serve with some pitta bread and a pinch of fresh crushed pepper. Easy does it! Check out the recipe after the jump.

INGREDIENTS \

1 ripe avocado, cut in half, skin and stone removed
400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 garlic clove, peeled, finely chopped
1-2 lemons, juice only
½ tsp Tabasco
½ tsp ground cumin
sea salt, to taste
6 ready-made pitta breads, to serve

HOW TO PREPARE \

1. Blend all of the ingredients in a food processor until smooth.
2. Transfer the avocado hummus to a bowl and cover with cling film.
3. Serve in bowls with pitta breads.
