Alexa Meade (23, Washington, DC) has developed quite an interesting painting technique; she paints a portrait of somebody on top of himself. When you look at her work in a two-dimensional way, it appears to be a trompe-l’oeil like oil painting. It is however a three-dimensional live installation with an actual person in it. By mixing techniques such as installation, painting, performance, photography, and video art Alexa creates alienating pieces that are definitely worth paying a visit when possible.
