Friday Food \ Homemade Chocolate Letters

This week, we had a nice Christmas dinner with the BLEND crew. Besides a lot of fun, each crewmember had to prepare a tasty dish. Our colleague Veronique impressed us with her beautiful BLEND logo made of chocolate, marshmallow and nougat. Check out a similar recipe after the jump and recreate Veronique’s treat.
INGREDIENTS \
275g plain chocolate
275g unsalted butter
40g pecans, broken into pieces
85g marshmallows
40g nougat
175g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla essence
325g caster sugar
HOW TO PREPARE \
1. reheat the oven to 170C. Line a big ovenplate with lightly buttered greaseproof paper or foil.
2. Put the plain chocolate and butter in a large bowl, place over a pan of simmering water and allow to melt.
Sieve the flour and baking powder into a bowl and set aside.
3. Remove the melted chocolate from the heat and stir in the sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla essence. Fold in the flour, nuts, marshmallow, nougat and chocolate.
4. Create the letters by hand and put the on the ovenplate. Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The top should be firm but the inside should feel soft when cooked. Allow to cool on the plate.
5. Serve with some cranberry sauce and whipped cream. Enjoy!
