How To Hunt
The exhibition and book called How To Hunt present a number of photographs on the theme of “hunting” as interpreted by contemporary artists Trine Søndergaard and Nicolai Howalt.
Since 2004, artist couple Søndergaard and Howalt started focusing on hunting as a central theme for their artwork. The two of them took part in bird shoots and deer hunts, interpreting those ancient rituals through the medium of photography. What we see in the images isn’t a direct representation of hunters and the Danish countryside; each image in the series consists of several photographs taken over time from the exact same position, which have eventually been digitally composed to form a single picture.
