Mia Pearlman’s paper sculptures

Mia Pearlman's paper sculptures

American artist Mia Pearlman creates these huge 3D cut paper installations out of large rolls of paper that play with light and take up immense amounts of space. Pearlman gets inspired by the weather and makes her sculptures seem like frozen wind tunnels and snowstorms.

She works in an extremely intuitive way, creating the paper cut sheets in her studio and building up her installations on site by trial and error. Besides these impressive paper works the Brooklyn-based artist creates glass sculptures and paintings. Check out a little impression of Pearlman at work in her studio here. Pearlman’s work is currently on display at KINKE KOOI in Arnhem, The Netherlands and AQUA 10: Art Miami, US.
