Recently New York-based artist Jennifer Rubell has exhibited one of her female nutcrackers at the Frieze Art Fair. The pre-fabricated mannequins have been turned into life-size nutcrackers which the visitors could interact with.
Mexican-born artist Gabriel Dawe’s Plexus site-specific installation evoke a colourful rainbow-like presence using thousands of strands of sewing thread. The installations are a reflection on his youth, growing up in Mexico City, with the intensity and colour of the Mexican culture.
