The graduation collection of fashion designer Saskia Roberts is called ‘Potter, Painter, Poet’ and was inspired by ceramics, its textures, colours, and patterns that are inherent to the production process. This results in a timeless palette of neutral browns, creams and terracottas, juxtaposed with highlights of turquoise and green. She uses artfully crumpled starch cotton to make garments that hold their form an stand away from the body like an apron. The pieces are then decorated with prints that replicate the marble-like texture of clay-imprinted fabric. Saskia aims to create wearable garments that are exciting on both a tactile and visual level, combined with an essence of the ‘hand-crafted’ and ‘hand-finished’.
