PONY x colette

New York sneaker brand PONY and Parisian boutique colette ventured into a collab and reworked PONY’s iconic Topstars. It’s not an arbitrary choice for PONY, as colette is more than a shop: it’s a countermovement, a community, an institution, most definitely a game-changer, an inspiration and the mecca for everything fashion, gadgets, gismos, music, lifestyle and concepts. Additionally, it was one of the first European stores (and first in France) to put the PONY brand on the shop stands, thus accrediting PONY’s image with major relevance in forward-moving fashion. PONY and colette first met in December 2011 when they organised a huge party to celebrate the PONY x Dee & Ricky debut collection.

The re-introduction of PONY to the sneaker industry went hand in hand with colette’s support, so to reinforce their collaboration to the next level, they put together a limited edition capsule collection – available exclusively at colette.  The design choice is precise and distinctive: the most iconic silhouette of PONY – the Topstar – is fused together with colette’s Pantone color – a beautiful sapphire blue (293 C). Very yin and yang.

PONY wouldn’t be PONY if they didn’t aim for both function and fashion, resulting in kicks that are both protective gear and a bold fashion statement. The laces come in white or dotted with the colette motif, which is also used on the box and which ties it all together.

If you happen to be in Paris soon, be sure to pass the windows of colette, as PONY and colette are preparing a dashing window installation in celebration of their collab.
