Anna Piaggi’s “Hat-ology”
Karl Lagerfeld once wrote “Anna invents fashion”, and Bill Cunningham described her as “a fine poet with clothes” in his documentary Bill Cunningham New York.
Anna Piaggi will be always remembered for many great things, but her image will be always related to a hat.“There were hats on every possible surface,” said Stephen Jones, curator of Hat-ology exhibition, about Piaggi’s apartment in Milano. The exhibition, will guide the visitor through the late editor’s one hat at a time, from McDonald’s caps to Chanel haute couture. In an interview in 2011 Piaggi said, “My hat is personal. It is what contains the soul, the feeling, the sensation that moves this little world around”(…)”It’s a secret and I want to keep it as secret as possible”.
Hat-ology exhibition was opening its doors yesterday 22nd of September, coinciding with Milan Fashion Week.
