German beer brand Warsteiner has teamed up with IWISHUSUN and Marcelo Burlon to fight global blindness. IWISHUSUN is a Berlin-based brand which sells products in order to finance eye operations in Bangladash. Over 80% of the 39 million blind persons worlwide could be cured and each piece sold by IWISHUSUN enables one person in need to receive cataract surgery.

All of the brand’s profits go towards this cause and for their latest initative, they collaborated with Milan-based designer Marcelo Burlon and his County of Milan brand, whose sensational prints and shirts are currently the talk of the town. Striking animal motifs and patterns characterize his designs, as does the owls he designed for this cause.

His owls – abstract and in bright, carefully matched colors – will appear on limited edition T-shirts. These T-shirts are available in black or white and each colourway will be limited to 100 units and can be purchased for €149 at the launch event on 3rd July and afterwards at www.iwishusun.net. 100% of the profits go directly to support IWISHUSUN.

Supporting the project, Warsteiner has made two limited edition bottles featuring the graphic of the collaboration. Andy Chiu, Head of Brand Management for Warsteiner, had the following to say about the collab: “Marcelo is one of the most exciting designers in the street wear scene today. His designs are lively, large-scale prints with a love of colour. IWISHUSUN is a wonderful charity, which enables people all over the world to see – not only Marcelo’s designs but all the colours in the world. Warsteiner is proud to be a partner in this wonderful collaboration and to give it our support.”

Both the T-shirts and the Warsteiner bottles will be presented at a special launch event next week at SOTO Berlin, where visitors will be able to buy the exclusive bottles and T-shirts.
