Vanessa Matic: It’s All Quiet Until The Riot
22-year old New York poet/hustler/muse/model Vanessa Matic is back with another poem: ‘It’s All Quiet Until The Riot’.
The friction of the fiction I was waiting
A blue light in his dark eyes turning red
Swimming deep inside of me
You were so shy I was waiting for the
extreme
I felt the heavy sky suffocate me gently
A moment I forgot because it felt like
eternity then it let go of me and I felt
so fragile
I could see the world spinning
Felt alive with all our sinning
Dust by dawn our hearts are
thinning
I knew you were my twin waiting for the
thrill
You’re someone who sees the same way
I’ve seen my eyes on you your eyes on me
The rain is done
Comes in my sleep
I thought I’d find a
promise I’ve made
but I’ve just become
corrupt waiting in the
dark or for you to open
up
You’re free like a bird
You’ll always be mine
Fear in disguise
Fluorescent tears
Shed by the pier a song
that I’ve sang while the
silence rang and rang
The nothing that’s begun
It never crossed my mind
till now I don’t remember if
I ever said goodbye
The river full of veins
The river full of rain
Shine on your shoulder
till you fade
Like a freckled polaroid
Nothing just blue morning
Set us restlessly in speed
There’s no time
Find the line
between us
I paralyze
read between
the lines
I walk with ice
I walk with fire
Everything in desire
All I need like evil or
good
And you believe this hearts
so damn dark then this spark
It hurts so good it screams love
I don’t wish I fantasize
Read between the lines
Between your thighs
Petals of rain
Shapes of teeth
like lipstick stains
in all these colors
The blue moon went red
Saw shape shifters in my
bed
It’s all so quiet until the riot
I’ve been waiting for the blood
to draw from my veins till the
dead sun, rise the flame in me
Daggers in the flirt
You say it doesn’t hurt
You’re chasing the crystal
veins split the clouds a thousand
flowers transcend I hold them once
again they died in my arms I watched
them till the end now they shed like you
and me
