We’ve all seen them: photographs of bands against walls, under blue skies or in the woods, devoid of any remote meaning of what the band might be about. I Shot the Band challenges young photographers to think outside the box and to capture the many forms of musical talent both on and off stage. I Shot the Band wants YOU to take initiative, to shoot bands while displaying creativity and subtlety.

I Shot The Band is a contest connecting photography with music. Young and upcoming photographers are challenged to make a photo series of three images based on one out of three bands: Wolvon, The Real Youth, and FilosofischeStilte. This year’s jury consists of Nick Helderman, Annie Hoogendoorn, and Marlies Waters (V2). The resulting exhibition will be on show in Amsterdam Roest from 8th until 21st June and afterwards in Concerto.
