The Polaroid Kidd

Mike Brodie started making photographs in 2004 after he was given a Polaroid camera. As The Polaroid Kidd he spend the next 4 years traveling through the US with a sub cultural group that illegally rode trains. The images taken from this journey however were shot with a Nikon F3 35mm camera. As much as he suddenly started taking pictures he ended it equally sudden to start studying at the Nashville Auto Diesel College (NADC) to work as a mobile diesel mechanic in his silver ’93 Dodge Ram. In 2008 he received the Baum Award for American Emerging Artists. Recently a new book with his work, entitled A Period of Juvenile Prosperity was published by Twin Palms and to be followed by numerous gallery shows.Check for more work his website.
