In the last couple of years the ‘video shoot’ as means of representing fashion has been taking the Internet by storm. The method of moving image adds a complete new dimension to the creation of these concepts and narratives within the language of fashion. Dutch photographer duo Meinke Klein recently created a special GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) fashion shoot for Nick Knights digital fashion website SHOWstudio. ‘In Bloom’, a collaboration with stylist Anna Trevelyan shows the model falling in the in starry night sky while flowers shoot and twirl around her. The GIF method is a beautiful lo-fi method that still honors the strength of still image while introducing the idea of movement. Keep an eye on Meinke Klein, they are the new rising stars from the Dutch photography landscape.
