I first learned about Ariel Pink and his band Haunted Graffiti through Tim Hoey of Cut Copy, who seemed obsessed with his music and especially the single ‘Can’t Hear My Eyes’. And I have to hand it to mister Hoey, after a few plays I was hooked. After that Before Today became my go-to album and ‘Round & Round’ marked the summer of 2010.

Hence my excitement for their new album Mature Themes! I can’t stop singing along to ‘Symphony of the Nymph’ in the shower, although sadly my life is more of a reflection of ‘Only in My Dreams’. Apparently my boss hates the album but that does not stop me from playing it at the office. Look at this guy! What’s not to love about him and his fringed pink hair?! My hair is lilac right now but I almost feel tempted to jump in the shower and dye it pink..

Needless to say, if you are in Amsterdam tonight you have got to go down to Melkweg to see Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti live. Apparently they do quite well live.
