Marianna Houghton: I Wish You Were Here
Recently this very meaningful and personal art project was started by student Tanya Houghton, whose mother Marianne was diagnosed with terminal cancer three years ago. A short while ago she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, she will start her final round of treatment very soon. Because of this she will be in no shape to travel for all the time she has left.
Because she always loved to travel and meet new people, Tanya wants to try and give her mother a similar experience by having people from all over the world send her a postcard.
The idea is really simple: Send a postcard to Marianne from wherever you are. Tell her three of your favourite things about the place where you live. Put a stamp on it and send it. This is how Marianne will get to travel the world. All cards that are sent will be uploaded on the website. These cards have already been sent (click to enlarge):
