Dead Meat AW2012
Written by Katarina Jansdottir
Dead Meat is a new collective on the fashion scene. With Giovanni Battista De Pol as the driving creative mind behind it, they provide a strong and new expression to the men’s fashion scene. Their autumn/winter 2012 collection is a forceful offering that simply is impossible to ignore.
Playing with anonymity through camouflaging prints and a face veil with a photographic print of John F. Kennedy, the wearer takes a step back. The title Dead Meat may have a slightly brutal tone to it, but then the clothes themselves are bold and unforgiving in a brilliant way. What can be extracted from the presentation and brought into everyday life are individual pieces with attention grabbing kaleidoscopic patterns all made in fine materials. The perfect fix to spruce up any man’s wardrobe.
