Teengirl fantasy

Written by Sander van Dalsum

After the sonic damage that Logan Takahashi and Nick Weiss did with their debut album ‘7AM’, the duo of fluctuating and uncanny dance maneuvers returns. As Teengirl Fantasy, these boys have been testing crowds and making people move to their indefinable rhythms and melodies. The electronic vessel that they control is lead by synths, samplers, and drum computers – taking the appreciators to a realm of uncertainty. The sudden moves included in the jams are exactly what makes these club anthems stick to one’s mind.

Their latest offer bravely re-enters this zone. With a bubbly and slowly advancing bass line, ‘Motif’ is a sluggish night out downtown. The kind of evening that doesn’t go as planned, and not a single aspect that foreshadows the next event. On a party like this, it’s best to stay put and see what happens. Before you know it, it’s there – one blink of an eye and the four to the floor kicks in, surrounded by swirling masses of synths and narcotic tendencies. Unexpectedness can bring so much rejoice.

Apparently R&S Records digs their work as well, seeing as they’re releasing this transcendent production on 12” next month, followed by an LP later this year. We’ll definitely keep you posted.
